to use verb “ter”?
Verb “ter” can be used in two different ways:
1. To express that someone possesses something
Examples:

(Eu) Tenho um cachorro. (I have a dog)

Você tem um cachorro (You have a dog)

A gente tem um cachorro (She have a dog)

2. To express that someone has to do something. In
this case it is necessary to use the following formula:
(person) + ter (conjugated according to the person) +
que + verb in the infinitive form.
